When to use it

Express that something happens or is true independent of circumstances; eliminate exceptions or conditions in business policy statements and formal announcements.

Formation

Verb: 誰が担当するか → 誰が担当するかに関わらず、品質基準は同じだ — "Regardless of who handles it, the quality standard is the same" I-Adj: 高い → コストが高いかどうかに関わらず、必要な投資は実行する — "Regardless of cost, necessary investments will be executed" Noun: 部門 + を → どの部門に関わらず、ルールは統一される — "Irrespective of department, rules are standardized"

Examples

  • I'm announcing the new employment regulations. Regardless of job level, they apply to everyone.
