When to use it
Use ~に準じて in formal writing to say that something is handled in accordance with an existing standard, rule, precedent or schedule — or that it is treated on a par with / proportionately to something else. It is standard vocabulary in contracts, internal regulations, HR notices and business email, where it replaces the more neutral ~に従って with a nuance of "modeled on / pegged to" a benchmark. Avoid it in casual speech; 〜のとおりに or 〜に合わせて is more natural there.
