When to use it

Use ～というものではない to reject a simplistic or absolute assumption — the idea that X automatically guarantees Y. It's the standard way to soften a counterargument in meetings, reports, and negotiation, where a flat 違います would be too blunt. Common in the frame 「～ば／～たら…というものではない」, and the ～でもない variant sounds even more hedged.

Formation

Verbs: plain (dictionary/negative/past) form + というものではない — 例：安くすれば売れるというものではない
i-adjectives: plain form + というものではない — 例：早ければいいというものではない
na-adjectives: 〜だ + というものではない — 例：便利だというものではない
Nouns: N（だ）+ というものではない — 例：責任は現場（だ）というものではない
Politeness: 〜というものではありません／〜というものでもない（さらに婉曲）。Nominalized 〜というものでもないだろう also common in written reports.

It's not as if cutting the price will automatically make it sell.
Meetings aren't necessarily better for being long.
An apology doesn't necessarily settle the matter.
Long experience doesn't automatically mean someone is capable.
Adding staff won't necessarily let us meet the deadline.
